Surgeons from Mumbai perform CME in Surat — Hiranandani Hospital Kidney Transplant
Dr LH Hiranandani Hospital collaborates with South Gujarat Oncology Association to organize a continued medical education aka CME in Surat.
Dr LH Hiranandani Hospital Kidney Transplant, in collaboration with the South Gujarat Oncology Association, conducted a Continuing Medical Education aka CME in Surat on July 22. The event focused on two topics: ‘Identification of Brain Tumor and Central Nervous System’ by neurosurgeon Dr Sachin Giri, and ‘Recent Advances in Cancer Surgery of Rectum and Intestine Cancer’ by Oncology Surgeon Dr Deepak Chhabra. Both doctors practice at Dr LH Hiranandani Hospital in Mumbai.
The interactive CME program included case studies, demonstrations, and covered diagnosis, treatment, and patient management. The objective was to foster collaboration among Oncology professionals in Surat, especially for complex surgeries involving brain and rectal cancers, requiring multidisciplinary expertise and infrastructure. Dr LH Hiranandani Hospital also extends its services to Surat-based ‘JioMax Hospital,’ where Liver Transplant Specialist Dr Swapnil Sharma conducts OPDs once a month for Surat patients.
Dr Sachin Giri, the Neurosurgeon, shared insights into the planning of surgeries, utilizing technologies like Neuro Navigation System to avoid complications, and the survival benefits of tumor removal. Dr Deepak Chhabra, an Oncology Surgeon specialized in Laparoscopic and Robotic techniques, discussed advancements in post-surgery care, particularly for rectal cancer patients.
Conducted under the Outreach Program and CME initiatives of Dr LH Hiranandani Hospital Kidney Transplant, the event was organized with the involvement of the South Gujarat Oncology Association’s office bearers, including Dr Jayesh Shah (President), Dr Kaushal Patel (Secretary), and Dr Neha Patel (Coordinator).
